APPRENTICESHIPS - NOW RECRUITING FOR 2011

THE PROFESSION

Site based on new building sites mainly in Sussex, Surrey and Kent.
Dry Lining: Fixing plasterboard to walls and ceilings, Metal Stud Partitioning and Jointing.
Plastering: Skim Coat Plastering Plasterboard walls and ceilings, Float & Set Plastering blockwork walls .
You will need your own van (or share a van) to get you to site and transport your tools
Early starts. You will need to be on site, ready to start work, by 8.00am latest.
The ability to earn money long term is huge, but will require dedication, perseverance and time. You will be qualified after successfully completing the course, but need time and practice to perfect the skills you have been taught

THE TRAINING PROGRAMME

Structured learning and work experience programme.
Consists of classroom theory, hands on training in our purpose demonstration centre and supervised site work.
Qualification incorporates QCF Level 2 NVQ Certificate, Construction Diploma, Key Skills and Employment Right and Regulations.
Success is based on practical and theory tests, development of written evidence portfolio and the development of practical skills.
Apprenticeships are the most widely recognised qualification in the Construction Industry.
Achievement of the award enables the qualification for a Construction Skills.
Certification Scheme Card that enables authorised working capability on any construction site in the UK.

Full time employment, not a student.

Training allowance of £96.00 per week for first 12 months.
One day at college per week.
Four days on site with your trainer.
‘Piece Rate’ for the next 12 months i.e. you earn what you do to the required standard, with occasional supervision from your trainer.
You are expected to make your own way to College.
We will arrange your transport to site.
