' I joined the Academy Plastering apprenticeship Scheme in October 2003 and qualified in September 2004.
The training was very intensive, but thorough and professional.
I knew little about plastering when I first started, but I am now fully qualified, have applied for my CSCS card and confident in all techniques, although still fine-tuning my skills and increasing my speed.
The best things about the apprenticeship for me was that it was fast track training, so I was earning money within 12 months, I was guaranteed a job after qualifying and it gave me a trade for life.'
